Vehicle Purchases

The rate on the purchase of vehicles subject to registration remains at 5 percent. It is imposed on the purchase price.

Vehicle Leases

The rate on motor vehicle leases also remains at 5 percent. It is imposed on the lease price.

The vehicle must:

• be subject to registration, but not a motorcycle or motorized bicycle
• have a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 16,000 pounds
• be leased for a period of 12 months or more
