He is currently serving as interim principal at Hoover
Elementary School in West Branch. His main strengths lie in
designing and facilitating staff development training

statewide contacts.

Judy is the Job Shadow Coordinator for the Careers 101 program in Cedar Rapids
and serves as the business/education liaison. Her background in buiness and her
knowlege and experience with business/education partnerships and networking are
her strongest assets.

leader and facilitator for Creat-A-Vision, Heartland AEA 11 and Texas
Instruments.

For the past two years Andrea has been directly responsible for the redesign
and update of the Making Connections system. She has streamlined and updated
the system to be more user friendly. She is heavily involved in the transition
of Making Connection to IWD sites around the state as a support to local
efforts. Andrea can provide information as well as technical support for all
users of this database system.

Expertise: Work-based learning for student sand teachers
and Entrepreneurship.
Pat is a coordinator of Career Education for the Iowa City
Communtiy School District and a consultant for Grant Wood AEA.
He is the chair of the AEA 10 work-based learning task force
and has implemented several work-based learning programs
including registered apprenticeships. He has assisted in the
development of several school-based enterprises. Pat also has
extensive experience working with staff development,
particularly teacher internships.

curriculum director and STW administrator. He is
presenting three, six or fifteen-hour workshops on
brain-based learning and teaching. Built into the
workshop's activities are curriculum integration,
authentic assessment, contextual learning and work-based
learning. Career development guidelines can also be
incorporated. Wherever possible, participants are
involoved in McNellis-type group activities.

Lisa runs her own career counseling business and works as the Camanche STW
coordinator. She has identified unique means to meet the needs of students and

those top priorities of the partnership as well. A dynamic, creative
entrepreneur and motivator.

Expertise: Workplace opportunities for students and teachers, Systematic
process to measure learning, Strong school-workplace partnerships, and use of
available technology to collect/analyze performance data.
Jim is currently the Director of Curriculum and Staff Development at
Waverly-Shellrok Schools. This position provides continuous practical experience
with all curricular areas, students and teachers at all K-12 levels,
administrators, school board members, and a range of community and business
leaders. His major areas of interest and expertise are development of workplace
opportunities for students and teachers, development of a systematic process to
measure learning, and development of strong school-workplace partnerships. He
has facilitated staff development work on student assessment and use of
partnerships; use of available technology to collect and analyze performance
data; and the role of schools in development of a skilled workforce.

Doug is currently the guidance counselor at Steward Elementary, a K-3 school
in the Washington school district. He has developed a comprehensive skill-based
preventative guidance curriculum for his building and is a leader in the
district’s at risk efforts. Doug is available to provide consultation and
training at al levels in cooperative learning theory and practice. He has had
extensive training and facilitator experience with the structural model of
cooperative learning that infuses cooperative learning activities into all
academic content areas. His colleagues at Washington have demonstrated that
skills learned through cooperative learning activities can easily be learned and
practiced by students, integrated successfully into an integrated career guidance
program, and transferred to the job site.

curriculum for the Boy Scouts of America. Betty leads a dynamic, action-filled
