Work-based Learning Guide 2002

In cooperation with the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI)
Foundation, Iowa Department of Economic Development, Iowa Workforce
Development and the South Central Iowa Federation of Labor ABL-CIO,
the Iowa School-to-Work Office releases "Work-Based Learning Guide
2002." This document offers general guideance for students,
teacher-coordinators, school administrators, employers, businesses,
communities, and others involved in work-based learning experiences.
The "WBL Guide 2002" replaces "Iowa Risk Management Guide
for Work-Site Learning Environments, Revised Edition, November 2000,"
"Iowa Cooperative Vocational Education Handbook, Revised 10/99,"
"Legal Aspects of Work-Place Learning, Revised 1999," and expands
on information available through the "Cooperative Education
Training" notebook, circa 1985. It is not possible for any single
document on work-based learning to be comprehensive, but the
"WBL Guide 2002" does provide a useful overview of key issues
and areas of awareness important for anyone involved in work-based
learning experiences.
