Objective G
Understanding of effective methods for use in reviewing the extent the existing programs within the community are meeting the needs of homeless children and youth and their families and understanding of effective methods for use in reviewing the extent the existing school district programs are successful in collaborating with community service providers.

	Pieces of the Puzzle: Creating success for students in homeless situations. A training program focusing on helping participants (1) develop awareness that there are students in homeless situations, (2) gain an understanding of the challenges that these students and their families face, and (3) create opportunities for these students to enroll and succeed in school, regardless of their living situations. Part III Opportunity includes a section Coordination and Collaboration: Within the Community Guide. A copy of this training package has been distributed by the State Coordinator to Iowa Area Education Agencies and teacher training colleges and universities to be placed in their lending library.
