Understanding of effective methods for use in reviewing the extent existing educational programs, procedures, and policies within a school district are meeting the needs of homeless children and youth

  Pieces of the Puzzle: Creating success for students in homeless situations. A training program focusing on helping participants (1) develop awareness that there are students in homeless situations, (2) gain an understanding of the challenges that these students and their families face, and (3) create opportunities for these students to enroll and succeed in school, regardless of their living situations. This training manual includes a Campus Self-Assessment Guide. A copy of this training package has been distributed by the State Coordinator to Iowa Area Education Agencies and teacher training colleges and universities to be placed in their lending library.
