Objective and Strategies
Objective
By the Year 2001
There will be growing evidence of a clear understanding
of the characteristics and needs of young children in all early childhood learning
environments.
Strategies:
The Early Childhood Network will--
- I. Provide continuous opportunities for colleagues, practitioners,
decision-makers, and planners to develop clear understandings of the unique
characteristics and needs of young learners.
- 1.1 To develop an outline and format for the compilation of materials
that could be considered supplemental to the Primary Program document
- 1.2 To develop a system to coordinate statewide training
opportunities for early childhood professionals
- 1.3 To maintain a dynamic web site for increasing the information and
connection of early childhood policy, programs, practices, etc.
- II. Assure the interests of early childhood are represented in
planning for school improvement.
- 2.1 To develop an increased level of expertise in appropriate
technology use with young children
2.3 To develop connections with school improvement processes that support student
achievement goals
The Iowa DE/AEA Early Childhood Network was created in 1990 and
represents the Early Childhood consultants and specialists in the Department of Education
