Responsibility moves to DOT
NOTE: As of July 1, 2002, responsibility for this area has changed from the Iowa Department of Education to the Iowa Department of Transportation. Read on for contact information.

A teacher of driver education must still obtain the appropriate Iowa teaching credentials to conduct classroom or behind-the-wheel instruction. For assistance in obtaining the required driver education teaching credentials for Iowa, contact Gary Borlaug, Bureau of Practitioner Preparation and Licensure, at 515/281-3483.
