Educators across the country are now recognizing the enormous contribution that community involvement makes in reaching levels of excellence in education, lifelong learning and community betterment projects. The Community Involvement in Education Awards Program has been established to recognize outstanding programs of community coordination and cooperation with schools throughout the state.   Schools and their communities are invited to participate in the 12th annual Community Involvement in Education (CIE) awards program sponsored jointly by the Iowa Department of Education and the Iowa Community Education Association. This award program recognizes and advocates for involvement between the community and the school.
